Dummy Cost Center

Experts,

How can the dummy cost center be blocked from posting/removed so that the line items that will be entered in future need to go to some cost center instead of the dummy cost center.

The way that I block a cost center is using transaction KS02. I enter the cost center and go to the "control" tab. Using the lock options, I can prevent any further direct postings by locking all costs and revenues.

IS this something which can achieved only by validation and substition or are there any other ways?

Hi,

You can also resrict the validity period of the Cost Center. In Change Cost Center Master transaction code KS02, go to Menu bar > Edit > Analysis Period.

Here you can change the analysis period and resrict it.
