Hi,
I have a Doubt in Delta Data Loading
Please check the following Procedere is Right / wrong ?
I did Full Load it is successful.
I am doing Delta Loading.
For the Business Content Info Cube 0COPA_C01 --
CO-PA: Published Key Figures I am Loading the Data.
I am doing INIT & Delta Load.
This cube has the Data source 1_CO_PA_110_BILDA
-
I had checked in RSA6 : 1_CO_PA_110_BILDA
ExtractStruct : ZOXGDV0108
Direct Access : D
Delta Update is check -
First I Created a info package --
In Update Tab
Update Mode
Full Update
Delta Update
Initialize Delta Process
Initialization with Data Transfer
Initialize without Data Transfer
I have choosen Initialize Delta Process -- Initialization with Data Transfer
-
Then For the DTP --
In DTP -- Extraction tab -- Extraction mode is set to Delta.
-
There is no difference in Records when I loaded Full/Delta.
showing same records.
-
is the Right Procedure I followed !
When Next time I load Delta then I need to follow the Same procedure ?
Thanks
prasanna
Hi Prasanna...
-Create Infopack and Schedule with -->Initialization with Data Transfer (it will extratc the data upto PSA)
-Create DTP -->Extraction mode is set to Delta(it will extract init data)
-Create Delta-Infopack and Schedule with --> Delta Option(it will pick up delta records upto PSA)
-Run DTP(keep it as delta mode only) again it will pick up delta records..
See, if u make full mode in DTP, every time it will pickup all the data from PSA(u wil get dbl records)
hope ur clr..!!
Thanks

Thank you Srinivas for the immidiate Responce,
you mean to say , I need to Create Two info packages
one For Init and other for Delta.
Info pack for INIT
I need to select the option
Initialize Delta Process
Initialization with Data Transfer (Here these two are selected)
then schedule
then DTP -- Extract
(In DTP -- Extraction tab -- Extraction mode is set to Delta.)
-
For the Delta Load
I need to create another Info pack for DELTA
then here I need to select the option
Only Delta Update
and schedule
then DTP -- Extract.
(In DTP -- Extraction tab -- Extraction mode is set to Delta.)
am I Right Srinivas
Thanks
prasanna
Thank you srinivas.
srinivas one last Doubt,
i need to load this Data Daily.(not manually)
can you please tell me how to do this ?
Do I go for Info pack (Schedule Tab -- )
here I have two options
Start data Load immidiately
Start Later in Background
do I need to select Start Later in Backgrount option
or
I need to go for Process chain
thanks
prasanna
Hi prasanna maredu
U can go either Info pak or process chain ...
The above process u mentioned is true u can follow that if u want to schedule as a
infopak..if u want to go for process chain then u need to Schedule the start variant
and in the periodic value mention /select daily.
Thanks & Regards

Hi prasanna
Let me start with the Info pak
(a)Info Pak
Go to the info pak Schedu tab
Just select start later in back ground it will show u a pop up selct periodic values
and then check the periodic check box and then say continue and save it then
click on schedule ..it will automatically start from then on words
Process chain
Just selct the start process right click on it go to maintainm variant selct direct
selcting and then give periodic value and save it..
Thanks & Regards

Hi R M K thank you,
if we do Info Pack -- schedule Tab
In the option Start Later in background-- set periodic values
Then it will update only in PSA.
But if we want to get these Records in info cube
we need to Execute the DTP.
That is not doing.
(selecting the option start later in background and set the periodic values is sufficiant)
here you are not discussed for DTP.
cause i don't want to load manually.
How do we Execute DTP automatically ?
thanks
prasanna
Hi Prasanna
I thought that u r in to Bw 3.x
Ny ways in this case u should create a proces chain..
and schedule it in the start process it self .
Still there is one ancient option like define the subsequent process in the in fo pak
schedule once the PSA request is sucessfull then put a Event and then place the
same event in the start process or scedule process of DTP.
But as per Expert Suggestion U should Go for Process chain.
Thanks & Regards

Hi Prasanna
JUst go to the Help .Sap or Google u will find lots of docs .
Ny ways here am giving a very brief
Start
load to PSA
drop index
further process
DTP to Target
activate process if any DSO is present
Create Index
and go to the start process and go 4 maintain variant go 4 direct scheduling..
Thanks & Regards

The difference in full update and delta update can be seen when u change the data. After full update has been done if u make any changes to the data...then do the delta update so that new changes get reflected and u can see the difference.
