Migration Of Crystal Reports form 5.0 to CR 2016

Hello Everyone,

We are planning to migrate from BO 5/BO 6 to CR 2016 and publish them in the BI Launchpad ( BO 4.2 ).

So I would like to know the process to implement. Also would like to know any best practices. Thanks,

Rob, they're using one of the earlier versions of BO - pre-acquisition of Crystal Reports and the Crystal Enterprise platform that became BOEXI.

Sunny, there is no direct migration from those earlier versions of BO. Those versions had Deski reports and possibly an older version of Webi reports, none of which can be automatically upgraded to Crystal. Each of the reports would have to be rewritten from scratch with more current database drivers.

Also, security and administration have completely changed since those early versions. You may need to contact SAP to have them get you in touch with a Partner who can help you with this project. (I work for a Partner, but I'm not allowed to advertise here...)

Hi Sunny,

I help gold partners with client migrations.

I'm not sure what BO version you have.? The earliest version is BOEXI R1 and I migrated my client from Crystal Enterprise V10 which is about 14 years ago. If this is the case then you will need help to migrate to BOEXI R2 V3 then into BO 4.2. There are no best practice notes for this.
