Help required: Authorisation check

Hello all,

My requirement is to allow update of certain fields in the IL02 table, only if the role is planner or RE. Any idea what this could be, and what authorisation object to look for? Thank you.

Hi,

I don't think you can support this with standard SAP. I know that for maintaining the material master you have specific locking functionality to achieve this. However it is not available for functional locations.

Other solution I was thinking of is field selection. You can't use it, because it works with influencing fields which can't be changed.

Other solution what will work I think is to use a special transaction variant (to be created with SHD0) that hides or displays the fields. Use the standard transaction or another variant for maintenance of the fields. You can link Z-transaction codes to the variants and authorize the proper roles for these transactions.
