Transport Export Datasource

Hi,

I have two cubes 0PA_C01 and another cube which stores the snapshots of 0PA_C01 cube.I have done an export data source of 0PA_C01 and generated the datasource 80PA_C01, then the Infosource, transfer rules etc have been set up and everything is working fine in Development box. Now I want to transport these cubes and the infosources etc to Quality box. My question is do I need to generate export datasource of 0PA_C01 in quality also or is it ok just to transport the datasource 80PA_C01 and infosource?

Please advise and thanks in advance.

Hi Kiran,

Add the 0PA_C01 cube to the transport request along with the other objects and the export datasource would be generated in the target system as well.

Thanks for your response. Does it mean that there is no need to manually generate export datasource in quality? Also, can the 0PA_C01 cube and the update rules 80PA_C01 be transported in the same request?

Hi Kiran,

Yes, no need to manually generate the export datasource...anyways you might not be able to do it as the Q and P systems are closed to manual changes. And you can send all in the same request.

If the objects are changeable in Q system, then you can generate the info source in the Q system. But, usually, Q system will be protected from creation of new objects or change of existing objects and so, you have to collect the source and target provider with the info source in a transport request and transport across.
