Hello Experts,
I am implementing IBP for my client. The client has purchased only S&OP module(1705 version) of SAP IBP. My query is that , can i run optimizer if i have just S&OP module or do i need the IBP response and supply module to do that? I have seen in config document that the SAP2 planning area supports S&OP Optimizer, so does that mean only S&OP module can cater to optimizer requirements?
If yes, how can i model the constraints? What constraints can be taken into consideration? Can you please help so that i can get a full understanding so as to how to setup the system from the scratch and understand the output of Optimizer?
Hell Argha,
yes, as far as I know you need the IBP Response & Supply module to use the optimizer.
Informations on the optimizer constraints and more can be found in SAP note 2238074 - Additional information about the supply planning function for IBP for Sales and Operations.
For your convenience I copied the constraint list below.
Kind regards,
Carsten

Also, if my understanding is correct, i will be able to configure S&OP Optimizer in the S&OP module and then not be able to use it as i will not be having the Response & Supply module. Or will i be forbidden to configure S&OP Optimizer in the S&OP module completely?
The logic behind my question, i want to understand why in the SCM Operator i am given S&OP Optimizer option as well in the S&OP Module itself and still not use it? Where are the restrictions?
Hi Argha,
I don't think that there is a check of the licenses on configuration level as the configuration is technically shared for the heuristics and optimizer. So probably you can setup S&OP Optimizer with just a S&OP license. Nevertheless it makes not much sense without a Response & Supply license.
Cheers, Carsten
