OBA4 Item Tolerance doesn't apply to GL Open Item

Testing on the OBA4 GL tolerances seems to reveal that the limit on "amount per open item account item" does not apply to GL accounts managed on an open item basis.

Can anyone confirm or refute our findings? I find nothing in OSS or documentation that specifies this tolerance is only AR/AP and not applicable to GL open item accounts, but this is the behavior.
