BEx query user Input variable issue on Open ODS view

Hi Team,

We have created the real time data flow using HANA CDS view and Open ODS View in SAP BW on HANA (7.5 SP02). On top of Open ODS, we have created Composite provider and created a BEx report on top of it for reporting.

In the Open ODS transformation, we have written ABAP code for fetching data for some of the fields by looking up on different info providers.

When we create a manual entry variable on these fields (getting populated by ABAP code in ODS) and pass value by using F4 help or by manually or even if we hardcode it with static filter in BEx, the BEx report is showing “No Data Available”.

For Example : ZSTATCODE (Status code) is populated by ABAP Code in ODS transformation. for Document 100 , ZSTATCODE is maintained as M01 for date 3rd of June.

When we run the Bex report in RSRT and pass M01 in ZSTATCODE for document 100, the report fetches zero record. But when we run the report only with doc number, report fetches the M01 Status code in output.

could you please advise on this.

    Hello Abhimanyu,

Based on the provided information there are two points it might be worth to consider here:

    - if you have defined complex ABAP logic in the transformation, it might be worth to check during runtime if the selections are passed over correctly to the CDS View. A similar scenario in the past could happen in case of virtual providers based on DTP where inverse routines had to be defined in such cases (KBA 1592982, 1486659 and 967798 provides a bit more detail on the need of these)

    - the other point is that I see you mentioned that your support package level is 7.5 SP02. This might not be in direct relation to the problem but officially it is not recommended to start using CDS views for Analytics on a lower SP than 750 SP 4 (KBA 2361926)

I hope I could point you to the right direction.

    Best Regards,
