Regards,

Dear David,
Basically there are 2 lines from which you have to select ant one.
1. Technical Consultant
2. Functional Consultant
Technical Consist of Abap & Basis.
In Abap you are invovled into coding, the objective of it being to meet the specific requirement.
Basis Consultant are responsible for setting up the SAP system & it's maintainance. Also they are responsible for taking regular back-ups & transporting Customizing & work bence reuest from golden client to other clients (here clients refer to server).
Functional Consultant are consultant which work on different modules like FI, SD, MM, PP, PS, QM, CRM, SRM, APO & so on.
It is best recommended to visit Authorized SAP Training Center & take their councelling & recommendation.
It is preferable to take up Functional consulting rather than Technical though both are challenging. My sugesstion will be PP module as I think that that would best suit your qualification.

Hi David
There is nothing like which module is best for someone. ERP is a business software and you need to understand in which area of business you need to apply ERP knowledge. For example if you are interested in procurement and sales you take training in MM / SD module. But as a starter you can get some ABAP and basis fundamentals and then get some functional experience. You must have functional knowledge so that you can apply and use the package in the real world. You must be clear in which business you are interested and then decide the module. Hope I am clear. If interested give reward points.
