I downloaded latest version and tried to install. The installion process stop at reaching 21 % while preparing packages for installation of ABAP.
After I started installation it takes about 15 - 20 Minutes reaching 21 % and then there is no more progress. I was waiting more than two and a half houres but the status of the process does not change and I used the task manager to cancel the installation.
When I open the file c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\services there a two entries:
sql6 7210/tcp
sapdbni72 7269/tcp
I tried several times and removed this entries and also the sapdb folder which had been created before I restarted installation.
My operating system is XP Home and I tried to install on drive d: where is about 45 GB free space.
Did anybody have the same or similar trouble resp. who knows how to solve?
Thanks!
Otto

Yaroslav,
thanks for your help. I could find out the reason which caused my problem. I found registry entries from a former SAPGUI installation. SAPGUI itself was removed by using SapSweep. In spite of this some registry entries were not removed. After I deleted them manually the installation ran without any problems.
Thanks again.
Otto
