NetWeaver App with JCO

Hi,

We have a custom J2EE application running on the NetWeaver 7.0 WAS that uses JCo to connect to the backend R/3 system. We have noticed that when the R/3 system goes down or is restarted the front-end JCo app is not able to reestablish the connectivity till the app or the server is restarted. Any clue why?
