SAP BusinessObjects publication to file destination - access level

Dear SCN-Community,

currently I´m facing a problem with the file destination within a publication. If I configure the publication for the e-mail destination the user can schedule the publication and everything works as expected.

If the user want to publicate the report to a file destination (sharepoint) a permission denied message from the BO appears. Don´t know if there is a dedicated access level to control such destinations, I think not! On the file system side there are enough access rights configured.

Do you have any suggestions to fix this issue?

Kind regards

If the destination is a sharepoint location then the steps mentioned in the below KBA should be followed thoroughly.

1736317 - Unable to add the share point host for BI 4.0

Now, if you say some are able to schedule the publication - it is important to know if they put any other credentials while scheduling the publication to sharepoint.

The users who are not able to schedule, what is the error message they get once the publication is failed?

How is your environment setup? Is it standalone/clustered? What is the BI Version? If clustered, the above KBA should be performed on all the processing tiers.

    Let me know your observation.

check if your BO service account has accessed on the file location. If BO service account don't have the access on file location then you will get permission denied error.

    Hi Andre,

As some of the users are able to execute publication and some of the user/usergroups are getting security issue(Permission denied) then the groups which are not able to execute might be missing the below rights.

    1)Add objects to the folder

    2)Delete user own objects

Could you try to add this rights on the publication folder for the particular user group who are facing the issue and ask the users to execute. If still the permission denied error came, could you please show the publication error message it will tell the right which is missing.
