recordmode in BI 7.0?

Former Member

I am looking at several standard extractors (like 0FI_AP_4) and standard DSOs. There is "recordmode" in the datasource, and there is 0recordmode infobject in DSO, however, in DTP, there is no "0recordmode", so I am not able to map the datasource's recordmode to DSO's 0recordmode.

How shall I deal with the 0recordmode in DSO? Thanks.

Can anybody help? Thanks!

Hello,

to see the mapping for 0RECORDMODE please change to the technical group in the transformation. There is a constant rule defined for it as default. If you want to change it please be aware that the rule type has to be changed also.

Dear Tom,

You will be able to map the recordmode in transformation, not in DTP.

The mapping of R3 fields and Bw fields are done in transformation, and if you are not able to find the record mode check the data source in r3 side weather the field is hidden or not or is there any check mark for field only in the data source for record mode.

DTP is used to schedule just like info package.

Srinvas.

Sorry I meant transformation.

The "recordmode" is in the source extract structure. DSO has 0recordmode, but in transformation, I don't see 0recordmode in the right hand side (which is the DSO structure), but only the recordmode field in left hand (transfer structure). I am not sure why 0recordmode does not appear, which makes me unable to map the recordmode in source to 0recordmode in target DSO.

Transformations - change - rule group - technical group

Thats where you see the 0recordmode where you can map with the source field.

thank you very much! I see it now. I will award the points.

I am still not sure whether I should link recordmode in source to 0recordmode in target?

Hello,

If you have 0recordmode in the datasource you do not need to change the default

setting in the technical group. Otherwiese you need the create the mapping.

Paula,

There is no default mapping in the technical group. You are saying I just leave the technical group as is? Thanks!

Hello,

yes you are right. You do not need to change the technical group in case

you have 0recordmode in the source.

Kind regards,

hi..

Note 399739 - Questions and answers on InfoObject 0RECORDMODE

1. Field 0RECORDMODE is needed for the delta load and is added by the system if a DataSource is delta-capable. In the ODS object the field is generated during the creation process.

2. Note 333492 was created to ensure upward compatibility for those customers already using 0STORNO. This works as planned and is correct; field ROCANCEL must then be mapped to both InfoObjects.

3. Field 0RECORDMODE is needed for the delta load and must also be included for the update in ODS in the case of user-defined InfoSources. In the ODS transfer structure, field 0RECORDMODE is generated automatically during the creation process.

4. Message RSAU128 'InfoObject 0recordmode missing from the InfoSource' is an information message, you can activate the update rules even without 0RECORDMODE. The field is required for the delta method of InfoSources with connected DataSources from an SAP R/3 system. For FlatFile DataSources or external DataSources InfoObject 0RECORDMODE does not need to be contained in the transfer structure of the InfoSource, or it does not need to be filled separately in the transfer rules. In the transfer rules when maintaining the transfer structure, the delta method for flat files or external DataSources is determined by field Update mode. In InfoSources that get their data exclusively from flat files or external systems, 0RECORDMODE does not need to be contained in the communication structure. Then you can ignore the above-mentioned message when creation update rules.

5. To call up documentation on 0RECORDMODE (BW Delta process: Update mode), call Transaction SE11, display data type RODMUPDMOD -> Pushbutton Documentation. Here you will find more useful information on the five possible features for InfoObject 0RECORDMODE (space,X,A,D,R).

Orecordmode is the field added by the system, if the datasource is delta capable.0recrodmode controls how data is posted into cubes or ODS (DSO) Objects.

N for new records

B for Pre Imgages

' ' for after images

R for Reverse Images

X for Storno

D for Deletion of a Key (only in ODS possible)

Y-Update image

check this thread which tell s in detail about the Orecordmode and ROCANCEL

please search in forums . you have lots of threads there...

hope this helps.
