Hi,

I am having some problems accessing https://name.sapbydesign.com/sap/cd/fileio/docs/in,

I get this error message:

"webfolder view cannot be opened do you want to open als standard"

I have checked the certificates and the settings on the Internet explorer but I cant it to work. It is probably some setting on IE that I have missed.

I would really appreciate it if someone could help me with this.

Best Regards

Hi Maria,

are you referring to SAP Business ByDesign File I/O scenarios via WebDAV?

ByD Cloud WebDAV folders can be mounted in Linux, MS Windows and Mac OS X natively or by using a WebDAV client. Authentication is done using Basic-Authentication or client certificates. The credentials can be created via ByD UI by creating a Communication Arrangement “Access documents via WebDAV”).

You can check the ByD cloud WebDAV folders and the files in work center Application and User Mgmt >> File Input.

ByD cloud WebDAV folders typically follow the pattern https://myXXXXXX.sapbydesign.com/sap/a1s/cd/fileio/docs/in or https://myXXXXXX.sapbydesign.com/sap/a1s/cd/fileio/docs/out.

You find more details and trouble shooting documents in the ByD embedded help (Help Center) searching for "webdav".

Knut

Hi Knut,

To realize an integration scenario, I would like to export csv-files to an external system.

My idea was to do this via webDAV and write the files to https://myXXXXXX.sapbydesign.com/sap/a1s/cd/fileio/docs/out so the external system can access the network drive and read them. How can you write files to this folder?

Pablo

Hi Pablo,

currently we support custom file input scenarios only (drop a file in the cloud webdav folder and let ByD import the data from the file). However, I share your thoughts that custom file export scenarios would make sense as well. Please feel welcome to create an Improvement Request (idea) in our ByD Ideas Place (please use the category "SAP Cloud Applications Studio").

Best regards,
Knut

Hi Knut,

Thank you for your quick reply.

Yes, I can submit an idea in Ideas Place. However, it is very strange that this folder labelled "out" exists though it is not addressable.

I feel that handling files is cumbersome with ByD PDI, also using the File Input Run which is limited to processing XML-files. I remember when we created a mass upload functionality for product images where we had to write a Base64 encoder/XML-generator with local file-system scripts because it was not possible to upload the product images directly or as (zip-/tar-)archive.

Pablo

Hi Pablo,

thanks for submitting the idea.

The out-folder exists because we have some file export scenarios in ByD using WebDAV.

Thanks,
Knut
