How does data volume usage calculated in transaction DB02?

Any expert knows how does the data volume usage calculated in DB02?

Why it greater than disk usage size?

As per OS access, data volume is observed as 169 GB instead of 260 GB(in below figure).

Best regards

George

Hi ,

This is tagged maxdb, but it seems you are talking about hana, please remove maxdb tag, but mark hana.

One option to find out about the calculation is to simply debug the ABAP form and see what fills the data field.

But I would propose to check the same information in HANA studio first - maybe, for some reason, the size of the filesystem (Disk Size) is indeed reported to be smaller than the HANA volume size.

Have you got MaxDB Database Manager installed? if yes please connect to the MaxDB database using that and check the data volumes assigned to the database and the size of each volume. You can download the MaxDB Database Manager and from SMP and install it.

Hi Reagan,

Thanks for your reply. Actually this R/3 system is installed on HANA DB, and the data volume usage info from HANA Studio is different from transaction DB02. Just want to know the calculation mechanism of DB02.

Best regards,

George

As there was no indication of what the database is, I assumed it as MaxDB based on the tag.
