starting with SAP WebIDE on premise

Hello,

we have SAP Transportation Management version 750 SP 7. This is on premise system. We need to add a custom field on screen and hide it based on user role. I want to check for extension point and create extension project and so on but I do not know how to open SAP WebIDE. Its a totally new system and I am trying to get to SAP WebIDE for the first time. I checked this link - https://blogs.sap.com/2014/12/24/start-with-the-sap-web-ide-on-premise/

but when I go to store.sap.com , i cannot find SAP WebIDE to download and when I search in general I find it on below sites.
www.sapstore.com
https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/SWI/SAP+Web+IDE+Personal+Edition
https://tools.hana.ondemand.com/#sapui5

is it correct way to get the SAP WebIDE on premise ?
even more basic, is it the correct approach for getting a field on fiori screen to hide and display based on role ?

thanks,
bhakti.

    Hi Bhakti,

The SAP Web IDE, personal edition (which is a local installation of SAP Web IDE) is intended as a complementary IDE.
You can use it in one of the following ways:

    • Evaluation - for off-line testing and evaluation only, under the same terms as the cloud version of SAP Web IDE within an SAP Cloud Platform trial account.
    • Production - for off-line development by customers with a paid subscription to SAP Web IDE on SAP Cloud Platform.

Meaning that in order to develop productively with the personal edition, you should have a paid subscription.

This is the right link to download the tool: https://tools.hana.ondemand.com/#sapui5

    Regards,
    Michal.
