SAP RE FX - CAD/GIS Integration

Halo Everyone!

We are looking at integration of RE FX with CAD / GIS systems to enable a visual interface for the architectural view.

Request help!

Yes this is possible. For example in master data of land register or business entity or building we can attach the link to view the (CAD)design or (GIS) map of the property or <b>the other way around</b>

You can make this assignment from either the <b>usage view or the architectural view.</b> However, the system always copies the measurements from the architectural object to the usage object.

We do know that this is possible. We are looking at "HOW"

Is it possible to see a diagrammatical representation of the architecture within RE even without CAD CAM integration?

Hi all,

DMS could be uses to handle the DWG file. But this is no integration.

The mentioned inferface is able to link a RE-FX object to the content of a drawing e.g. floorplan.

This means there is an integration on the data level not only on a file level.

Hi Karl,

I would like to understand in detail the possibility of the integration of SAP RE-FX with CAD/GIS viz how can it be achieved, what are the major challenges involved, any key areas for focus about the integration etc as there is a requirement with us and we would like to study this in detail.

Please see if you can provide me with some documentation in this regard.

Also if you can please refer some GIS vendor products which have been integrated with SAP with the contact information.

Also as mentioned in one of your replies, i would also like to know how and where can we order the SAP CD with the given material code.

This product suite covers the management of CAD drawings in SAP DMS (SAP AutoCAD Integration) and builts up the itelligence between the drawing and SAP.

So therefore dynamic reports (e.g. tenant report for RE-FX) and navigating in the CAD-drawing within SAP GUI is possible.
