I need guidance on wat is it ? how to create and use it...Kindly provide the information

of creation step by step...

Hi Bijal,

I have made a scenario in SCM 5.0 for Demand Combination and used help.sap.

Following are the steps to configure -

1. You have created a planning book with a data view and several key figures. The key figures can come from different data sources.

2. In the Macro Workbench, you have imported the macro DEMAND COMBINATION from the planning book 9ADC_BASIC to your planning book.

3. You have specified the demand combination horizon for the demand combination run in Customizing for Demand Planning (DP) under Basic Settings -Demand Combination - Make General Settings.

4. You define the master data for demand combination in the following sequence after going to the transaction - Advanced Planning and Optimization - Master Data - Application-Specific Master Data - Demand Planning - Demand Combination - Maintain Master Data for Demand Combination

a. You create a characteristics group and assign it to the planning area of your demand plan. You then assign characteristics of your demand plan to the characteristics group

b. You create conditions

c. You create activities

d. You create the decision tree with the conditions and activities you want. You end the decision tree with a finish activity. You activate the parameter values valid for the planning area for all the activities used in the decision tree

e. You assign the decision tree to a characteristic values combination of the characteristics group from point a.

There is already a decision tree made and one can take its reference.

One error of duplicate entries I used to get and if you get the same type of error then first reorganize the demand combination results table. This way you can achieve better performance for the demand combination run. To do so, on the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Advanced Planning and Optimization - Master Data -Application-Specific Master Data - Demand Planning - Demand Combination -Reorganize Results Table. Then delete the entries for the characteristics group that you want to use in the next demand combination run.

I hope you should not have any problem running demand combination in SCM 5.0. Definition of activities, conditions etc. to be used in decision tree is explained very well in help.sap.

Hi Bijal,

Demand combination is used to do a reconciliation of different forecast results. This function tries to do a more exact forecast using and comparing several forecast runs.

Master data that you need to use this functionality are: characteristic groups two create connections between the cvc's, conditions to structure a decision tree, activities to determine how you want the system to calculate the values for the combined key figure, and a decision tree that represents the sequence of decisions that demand combination has to make when it compares key figures to determine the combined key figure.
