Support link in Portal logon page not working

Hi All,

We are using the ´support´ link on the logon page of our Portal. When we click the support link, the system asks for UserId and e-mail adress. When we fill this in correctly, the system responds by displaying "New password sent to e-mail adress".

However, the password is not reset or anything and we still have to logon with the original old password. Where can this problem be rooted and where do I start to look for the cause of this.

We are using CUA and this is set on ECC 6.0 production system.

When I check in visual administrator I see something strange: With server0 the service UME Provider and key ume.logon.logon.help is set to false. However, the support link is shown on logon page.

      Eldose,

Indeed! We are running EP 7.0 SP12!

I have been analyzing your reply quite thoroughly. Unfortunately i am not able to fully understand your explanation. Can you perhaps give some additional advise on how to ´repair´ this different code in SP12? It is becoming a critical point in our project and it is one of the few show stoppers. Any help would be highly appraciated.

      Best regards,

Where can I find the file that logs the activity that occurs when performing the ´new password e-mail´? I can imagine that there is an error message somewhere which states the root cause of the password not being changed.

I am sorry for keep kicking this thread, but what is the normal amount of time for SAP to reply on a message? I created one on July 25th and haven´t received any reply yet. I already called to speed up the process and increase the severity to medium.

Can anyone tell me where I can find the logging data for the performed activities when clicking the support link? I have checked default trace, but could not find any data in there. I presume that this is logged on the Portal host and not on user store host.... ?

      For future reference perhaps:

SAP has indicated that the hotfix in note 1082019 might solve it. SP 14 will definitely solve this issue. We are going to implement the hotfix this week. I'll keep you updated.
