To the Community:

I am currently developing a CR 2008 report (yeah, I know we're dinosaurs) where I am attempting to display an indeterminate number of child-transaction records within a single parent (TRANSID). These children may or may not be identical records and are keyed with a sequence number (SEQNUM) within the parental TRANSID (see below code). Since my final report group is based upon the SEQNUM to keep them together, CR will only print the first record because groups (as I understand it) will only print records when there is a change in the selected group field (in this case the SEQNUM number). How do I get CR to display ALL the records associated with that SEQNUM ... i.e. how do I tell the group to display ALL records within the group even though they are identical?

Any help is greatly appreciated! ..... James

TRANSID SEQNUM TOTALDOLAMT
  115 101 10.51
  115 101 -10.51
  115 102 10.00
  115 102 -2.00

Hi James,

Why don't you use the Details Section to display all fields you need?

Abhilash -

Thank you for your answer and yes, that is what I did with the majority being the correct solution. The other portion was that I found a incorrectly linked table...I missed that it had a LEFT OUTER JOIN and when I corrected it all began to work correctly!

Thank you for your answer as I accept it as correct.

James
