MRP Deleting EBAN Records

Former Member

Hi all.

We have a requirement to extract EBAN records to BW based on the change date. There are approx. 8 million EBAN records, so the BW nightly extract is only looking for change records from that day so as to save processing time. However, we have a problem in that the nightly run of MRP deletes some of the EBAN records, so R/3 and BW are out of synch.

Does anyone know if there is a table or something that could tell us which of the records MRP has deleted from EBAN? Or can you tell me the criteria MRP uses to delete the EBAN records? We cannot have BW pulling in the entire EBAN table each night because of volume and processing time, so I am looking for other options. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Tom Mathes.

Hello,

Get a list of deleted PR's for a particular date range from CDHDR and CDPOS. You can also restrict the search by 'userid' used to delete the PR's.

Hello

Please avoid resurrecting those very old threads. I see that you have already opened a new thread with your question, so I'm closing this one.

Hello,

Assuming that the last action was "delete" you can select by EBAN-ERDAT (last changed date) and EBAN-LOEKZ (deletion indicator).

These records should not have an entry in CDPOS & CDHDR for the date range and deletion indicator.

Cheers !

This is the answer I got from SAP -

"Kindly be advised that your system works as designed.

MRP (MD01/MD02/MD03) do not record any changes in table CDHDR & CDPOS

either for purchase requisistion, nor for other MRP elements.

The main reason is that field CHANGENR (change number) is key field to

record change document, however, during MRP run, system can not

determine using which change number to change MRP elements. Actually

during MRP, system does not touch these two tables. This is standard

design."

To me, it sounds like I cannot use the CDHDR and CDPOS. If either of you who answered has any thoughts on this, let me know.

Thank you.

Hi

Did you get any reply on this ? I am also facing simillar problem. I need to find out the list MRP deleted PRs. Also, i am not able to find out the PRs changed by MRP. In CDHDR & CDPOS table have no entry on this.

Please go throguh the below scenario

1. Purchase requisitions were generated by the MRP run based on the demand.

2. As per our business requirement we are mirroring the same purchase requisitions created by MRP into another plant by running a batch job.

3. Many a times, due to demand change, they cancel the requirement in MD61 for the material and run MD03 again.

4. This time the PRs are deleted by MRP run. It removes the PR from EBAN.

5. Now I need to delete the mirrored PR in step2. But i dont have any clue on what are all the PRs were deleted by the MRP run

Similar case for MRP changed PR. I need to carry out the changes in the mirrored document. But MRP not maintained any entries in CDHDR & CDPOS tables.

Is there any way i can find out the list of deleted PRs by the MRP run.?

Thanks & Regards

Venkat.

Hi

Control parameter Planning mode in initial screen of MRP run will control the creation of requirements.

Planning Mode in the Initial Screen

The planning mode (Planning mode indicator in the initial screen of the planning run) controls how the system is to deal with procurement proposals (planned orders, purchase requisitions, scheduling agreement lines) from the last planning run, which are not yet firmed, in the next planning run. Firmed procurement proposals remain unchanged.

The planning mode is set automatically in the planning file. However, you can overwrite it in the initial screen of each planning run.

By choosing the correct planning mode, you avoid planning materials twice and thereby optimize system performance.

Features

The following options are available:

1.adapt existing planning data (planning mode 1)

2.re-explode BOM after change to BOM (planning mode 2)

3.delete planning data and recreate procurement proposals (planning mode 3)

The planning mode set in the planning file for a material can be overruled by the planning mode in the initial screen of the planning run. The following applies to this: For planning a particular material the planning mode that has the highest numerical value takes priority. Planning mode 2 (re-explode BOM) thus takes priority over planning mode 1 (adapt planning data), planning mode 3 (delete and recreate planning data) takes priority over planning mode 1 (adapt planning data) and planning mode 2 (re-explode BOM).

But you can't change the functional requirements. If there is no impact in your planning process if you change the planning mode you can go head with this solution.

But remember for BW report, you can't change your process.Better extract the deleted PR numbers from CDHDR/CDPOS table.
