Autostart and stop at Unix

Hi,

there is the profile parameter "Autostart=1" to start sap instances automatically through the sapinit process.

  1. But what happened if I stop the server? Stop sapinit the instances too?
  2. Is there a way to put a delay to this parameter to start the dialog instance after ASCS and HDB?

thanks

Patrick

Hello Patrick,

About question:

  1. The operating system will, at some point, send "nice kill signals" to all processes.
    It will then wait for some time and then send "hard kill signals".
    I would say that this is not the best way to stop SAP;
  2. There is no way to add a delay in the "Autostart" parameter.
    This parameter is intended to be used by instances with standalone engines (like the ERS - Enqueue Replication - instances; a Web Dispatcher instance; ...).

Regards,

Isaías
