regarding list programming

my requirement : in the list there is two pushbuttons 'a' and 'b'.

if i select push button 'a' i want to do some operation and o/p is required on same list. if i select 'b' i want to do some other operations and the o/p must be on the same list.

can anyone give me some idea....
