Sales Order does not generate customer demand

Former Member

Dear All,

I have created the Sales Order in SAP ByDesign. I have add some products and then I have asigned the sales order item to the project task, where I want to track the costs. Now I would like to plan material for these parts, but Sales Order is not visible in customer demand. Is it posssible to run MRP based on Sales Orders assigned to the project?

Thank you for help in advance.

Regards,

Marian

Hi Marian,

Yes, it is possible to run a MRP based on sales orders assigned to the project. To do so you will have to create a project stock order. There are a couple of pre-requisites for this.

  • You should scope "Sourcing Materials from Stock" business option in your business configuration.
  • You should answer questions related to Sourcing Materials from Stock in Project Stock Consumption.

The help document titled "Sourcing Material from Stock for Projects" will have all the relevant details to do so.

Once the project stock order(PSO) is created from the Project you will be able to release the PSO from customer demand view to execution.

I hope this answers your query.
