Hi Experts,

Can anyone tell me what is the difference between the stock transfer between two plants belonging to same company code and those belonging to different company code.

Hi,

They are very similar, but the financial postings are different and involve a cross company clearing process.

One major difference is that if the transfer is between two companies you can have a profit or loss, if the transfer is within the same company then there is no (legel) way to have a sales process with profit or loss.

You can use 301 movement etc. in both cases, or STOs or POs with the plant as the vendor. The fact that they are between different company codes (or not) does not affect these options.
