Hi guru's,
We have configured Variant Configuration in ECC 5.0 and there you have two options:
1. You configure your product with use of characteristics, classes and a configuration profile, so without a BOM. When you are done configuring your product and add it to your sales order, it doesnt show the options you have selected (unless you click 'item details: configuration') only your main configurable product
2. You configure your product with use of characteristics, classes and a configuration profile and with a BOM to which you have assigned different classes. When you are done configuring your product and add it to your sales order, it does show the options you have selected as sub-items in your sales order.
My question is: When to use which scenario?!
(note: we are replicating it to CRM 5.0 as well, so only a single level BOM explosion is possible)
