SAP 640 patch 25 reverts Gui back to build 0

I have recently installed SAP gui 640 from an automated package we have here...it includes patch 17...i updated the GUI to patch 25 and the build shows as 0....the GUI seems to work ok but I would like to know where the GUI reads the build number from...is there a registry setting that eeds to be changed etc.....
