Hello QM consultants,

maybe someone can advise based on his experience, regarding managing Expiration date in batch record in Hours and not Dates (standard)

target 1 is control (block/prevent) consumption to Process order.

target 2 is holding the batch between Process orders

I answered this already in 2012 and 2014 with these words:

I dont think that you can use hours.

for this you would need to enter the manufacturing date/Shelf life expiration date as well with hours, but the fields are just taking dates. the data type is DATS with a length of 8, there is no space for hours.

A field that can hold hours would have data type TIMS

You may have to contact SAP to ask if hours are possible, I doubt.

the period indicators are stored in table PRDKZ

the field period indicator is IPRKZ and the values ' ' , 1, 2 , 3 are fixed values entered to the domain DATTP, hence no chance for hours

thanks for your reply,

I am considering development option as well, although one of the topics that found was "holding period" in batch characteristics

maybe be someone did that in the past for MFG needs
