What is advantages and disadvantages of CBF in DP planning

Hi Gurus,

We have VC in ECC and trying to implement DP , SNP and PPDS .

In DP i am trying to bring all the characteristics of the material as a navigational attributes and please suggest me what why is good

1. to do CBF or bring all the characteristics as navigational attributes of the material?

Please i will be very thankfull if you send me the answers.

Hi Venkat,

We can pull the CHAR as navigational attributes and also as seperate info object but if we pull all the char then the CVC will be *4-5 char.

Can any one help me to define Test cases for Unit and Integration test?

Well, it depends on what are you trying to do?

CBF is used when demand of products is influenced by their attributes, for instance: vehicles sales. You can use the same sku for Vehicle A color Black and Vehicle B color White, but you know that demand is different for each color. In this case you can use CBF.

2.Can any one please suggest me if i get all the characteristics of the material as attributes can i pull the attributes while running planning book?

Hi Raj,

1. You can define the attributes as navigational attributes. You just have to define them in the BW system for the characteristic material.

2. You will be able to pull in all navigational attributes but as the name indicates, they are just for navigational and cannot be used for planning.

Hi Raj,

I am confused with your question. Is your question whether to get all the material attributes as navigational or not or use CBF for variant forecasting? These are two different things. I am sure that you understand what CBF is as you have VC. May be I can answer your question, if you can explain your question little more elaborate.
