hi
how we will be connecting xi with BW.
for e.g i am extracting data from BW using xi as the intermediate component.
what are all the ways, we can use to connect xi with BW.
what kind of data we will be transfering from BW..
bcz i am new to BW..
plz answer ...
hi,
when u want to connect to external sap system then first u need to create a rfc (sm59) in xi system for the bw i.e giving the logon details of bw system.
then create a port (idx1) in xi system and assign rfc destination to this port.
now create a logical system in the bw system by going to transaction code bd54 and then define the message type in the outbound parameters.

Hi limat,
U can connect BW and Xi by proxy .
first of all you have to create data source in BW system...and in xi the data type will be same as the structure of data source..
Also in case of loading data into BW tro' XI u can use the flat file....
see in bw wen u load an info object(eg..master data) thro' flat file...u have to give the data source....similarly in XI u create a data type of similar structure.....

u can load .csv file or ASCII files.....
