Resolution for Early Watch Alert--Wait statistics

Hi Everybody,

I have a production system on windows server 2000.

Database is sql server enterprise edition.

SAP 4.7.

I have got Early watch Alert on Wait statistics saying that

The average time for the following waitevent is high compared to our experience: WRITELOG

High wait times for WRITELOG indicate slow IO on the transaction log.

The table above shows very high wait times for wait type(s) PAGEIOLATCH_SH (above 20ms for each I/O) and/or WRITELOG (above 10ms for each I/O). These figures have been calculated from data recorded since your last database reboot. We therefore recommend that you observe these values over a longer period of time. If you do not notice an improvement, this indicates a severe performance problem (see SAP Note 521750).

I have already increased the size of transaction log.

Can any of you suggest some other solution to resolve this alert.

Thankx in advance

Regards

Abhishek
