Hi,

Check the mail status in SOST. If it is in error click on the "RED" color button to get the details on the reason for the error.

Hi Naresh,

Sounds like there are two options, the external mail program doesn't allow relaying these mails or in SCOT for the node the extensions are not maintained. But the problem seems to be connected with the email addresses you want to mail to.

Hi,

On clicking the red button you will get this message in the pop up. Once you get this message keep your cursor on the message and click on "Long Text". This would give a better picture and if possible a solution to the problem.

You can pass this long text message to the basis consultants as these settings are generally maintained by them.

Ok. Then there might be some problem with the recipient email ids that you choose. I am not sure whether it is possible to restrict the mails to certain domains alone. If that is possible, you may ask your basis team whether any such restriction is possible and has been done ur system.

Check whether the email ids mentioned in the recipient area is a valid one - especially check the domain for any extra spaces or dots.

Hi,

You said that a few mails are getting delivered in production. Does these email ids which are working fine belong to the same domain as that of the email ids that are giving errors. For example the system is delivering mails to "abcd@test.com" but it is not delivering to "efgh@test.com". Is it this way?

Also can you post the long text of the error message.

Thanks,

Hi,

Google gave me this link but no solution

http://sap.ittoolbox.com/groups/technical-functional/sap-dev/smtp-error-question-hope-you-can-help-6...

But this guy had the sane problem but only while sending mail to external mail ids. Check whether you have problem with certain domains only or you are having the problem in all the domains.

Thanks,

Hi Naresh,

This sounds to me like the external mail system sends a response back to SAP which SAP couldn't recognize. I think the external mail system has a problem with the e-mail addresses. Let somebody check this. I also would do what the message says:

Procedure

Report the error to the SAP Hotline

So I would report it to OSS.
