Maxx,

As far as I know, this is not possible using standard SAP. You can group TRs using LT41 for TO processing for the 2-step picking process but this would still create separate TOs for each of the TRs.

I am not sure why you would want to combine multiple TRs into a TO. Is this for some sort of a collective putaway? If this is the case, I would probably investigate the possibility of collective printing the group of TOs at a time although I am not quite sure how this could be achieved.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Sorry if I misunderstood the question.

I thought it related to STOs and not WM transfers.

Steve,

Maxx was using the terms 'transfer requirements' and 'transfer orders' in his post and these are usually specific to WM transfers. You were typing too fast:)

Hi Narayan,

yes and no.

You know how different people use different terms for the same thing in SAP, it happens all of the time.

People call stock transfers, stock transport orders, stock transfer orders, transfer orders, transport orders, tranfer POs, transport POs, etc. etc.

If I always assumed that tranfer orders was WM then I would be wrong.

I will try to type slower to give you a chance to get in first, but in this case I would have still made the same mistake. (it just proves that I am not the infallible expert that some people (for some reason) think I am, adn so it makes me feel more "human"

Thanks for seeing the funny side too, it is most refreshing to have a bit of a laugh occasionally.

Hi Narayan,

I'd like to ask you whether 2-step picking can be used for production supply? We use dynamic bins in production supply area.

thx

I solved this requirement using wave pick. The steps are explained below:

Wave Pick:

1. LP21 – Replenishment planning for fixed bins – Enter the requirement type as P – Production supply and also enter the requirement number

2. This helps to combine the Transfer requirements with the same requirement type and requirement number into a single Transfer order. This can be achieved by enabling the wave pick strategy.

3. Wave pick is useful for generating group of deliveries by having time as the basic criteria. Hence while executing LP21- replenishment for fixed bins enter the planned date and time under the section “additional info for transfer requirement”

4. Finally, by creating a wave pick with the timeslots, we would be able to group the transfer requirements in to a single transfer order

5. We can monitor the wave picks and their status using wave pick monitor.

Reward points if helpful.

Hi,

This depends on exactly what you mean.

For example, if you mean "can I add several Purchase requisitions (for transfers) into the same STO?" the answer is yes, just drag and drop the requisitions individually from the document overview panel into the "shopping basket" on the "delivery schedule tab" of the PO (STO) item.

If you are using MRP and have lots of transfer requisitions for many materials going to and from the same plants, then you can simply use the above option or manually create an STO for all of the materials involved WITHOUT referencing the P reqs and when MRP runs again, it will see this STO and delete the requisitions that are no longer required, due to the STO fulfilling the requirement instead.

So the answer is yes, but it does depend on exactly what you meant.

Hi Maxx,

Not to my knowledge...because the transfer requirement/transfer order relationship is normally at the header level.

You can create transfer order groups, but these usually only work for delivery related transfer orders (not transfer requirements)
