Hi,
in netweaver 7.0, I have created an ODS under the InfoProvider tree, created an infoSource under infosource tree using the ODS as to further "Create transformation" (I guess the new update rules),
At this point I am stuck and can't seem to find a way to create an infopackage to load to a flat file to the ODS?
Any hint on where to go now?
I have seen an option to create an infopackage for 3.x but I don't want that. I want to stay on the latesd options.
Thanks
For a flat file, you need to create a Datasource.
You can then create a transformation directly from the DS to ODS; the infosource you created is redundant.
If you want to use the infosource, you still need to create a DS, link this DS to the infosource using transformation, and then load the ODS from infosource.
You can create a DTP under ODS to load from DS or infosource, once you are done with transformation.

Hi,
Ok, under the InfoProvider, I highlighted the ODS1 under the InfoArea and selected create Data Transfer Process and Object Type DataStore and chose Source of DTP as Datasource, Name: ODS1
On completion, under the InfoProvider tree, under Infoarea, I saw my new DataSource DSXXX_1 as following under it:
A green icon like the old transfer rule (Transformation, Active), under that comes ODS1, then below that is a new icon, Data Transfer Process.
At this moment, none of these objects has a context which says Create InfoPackage
Where do I go from here?
Under this new icon (Data Transfer Process ), I only get create data transfer process .
How do I create the Infopackage to load my flat file?
Thanks
Is your datasource created and active? The option to create the ipak would be in the context menu of the datasource.
You are not doing it right and expect it to work. Have you created a file datasource (with all the field definitions, file path etc)?
Go to datasource tab (left pane). In the next pane, choose the Flat File source system (first icon with a yellow cross) - if you don't have one, create one flat file source system and then choose it. Now, in this source system (of file type), create a datasource, define all the properties of the DS there. Activate it, and then you can create an IPAK from context menu.
Next, you can, either from ODS or from DS context menu, create transformation and DTP.
Hi
you need to create DTP to load data ahead and infopackage to get data into PSA from source system..
Also why you need to create infosource? I think you can proceed with infopackage -> DTP ->transformations-> Target..
NW2004s or BI7.0questions hould go to dedeicated forum for this**
Let me know if you have any doubts
