hi gurus
we have this report that is using a WAD template. now we have 2 seperate hierarchies, i am using a Hierarchical Filter Selection in the template, for the user to be able to navigate in a hierarchy with in the report.
now the problem is can i have 2 Hier i want the user to pick one of those to run by based on the user input. is that possible ? in WAD you can define only one Hier to run the report from. cant there be a selection.
i already tried defining a variable in Query Deigner, but that conflicts with the hier selection in WAD. and i get a error when i run the report. the "Hierarchical Filter Selection" block on the template doesnot work.
is there any other way i can solve this issue ?
thanks..
Hi Hassan,
You can do this using by javascripting. Also tell me is your variable screen customized or standard one? So that I may help you further.
Thanks in advance

what do you mean by variable scrn. you mean the screen that pops up when you define variables for characteristics in Query Designer. that is standard i didnt think that was customizeable.
all the user has to enter there is a year. if i define a varible for Hierarchy in QD, than that conflicts with the hirarchy i have defined in WAD.
we have a very complex requirement. the users want to be able to select costcenter or coscenters individually and than they also want to run it by a node in a hierarchy, all with in one report. plus they dont like the standard SAP template so i had to design a new one for them in WAD.
now to add Cost center hierarchy i had to add Hierarchical Filter Selection item in my template in WAD. but you can select only one hierarchy in WAD. we have 2. one way i guess is to combine the 2 hier in a new one. one node leads to the first one, and the other to the other one. but is there no other way?
