Sale Organlzation

what is the basis for deciding any number of sale organisation?

    There no such basis for deciding number of sales organization. It is totally dependent on the client.

    SAP recommends using only one sales organization, if the business process allows.The more the sales organization the more complicated and huge the database will be as many things are specific to sales organization like

    · Within a sales organization, you can define your own master data. This allows a sales organization to have its own customer and material master data as well as its own conditions and pricing.

    · You can define your own sales document types within a sales organization.

    · You assign sales offices and your own employees to a sales organization.

    · All items in a sales & distribution document, that is, all items of an order, delivery or a billing document belong to a sales organization.

    It is the business which basically decides as how they want to calculate the revenues , and for profitability analysis

    also the no of sales org needs to decided by the top notch business heads, so that they can gets reports and decisions based on the sales org configured

    the more the number of sales orgs the more the complexity increases so they try to keep it as less as possible

    Ideally, in one country, we should have one sales organization. If we have more number of Sales Organization, then the configuration data, as well as Master Data will be high.

    But ofcourse, understanding the client requirement, we may have to go for more than one sales organization.

    Incase of standard report, there may be some limitation when we configure only one Sales organization, but with a simple 'Z' report that can be met & the job of configurator, as well as end user is simpler in one sales organization.
