I have a weird issue where a long running call to a web service on an ABAP server from a JAVA server via a load balancer(A10) works fine on http but gets disconnected in 5 minutes when using https.
It runs successfully close to 20 minutes when using http port on the load balancing A10 URL. Wireshark traces for http traffic show a lot of traffic in the beginning of request and at the end towards the result(~20 min), nothing in between.
When using https port(443) for the same loadbalancing URL, there is traffic in the beginning including SSL handshake, but right after 5 minutes, the client(JAVA server in this case) issues a Encrypted Alert to the loadbalancer:
TLSv1.2 Record Layer: Encrypted Alert
Content Type: Alert (21)
Version: TLS 1.2 (0x0303)
Alert Message: Encrypted Alert
This is followed by a session close request from client and acknowledgement from server.
On checking NWA logs on the requesting JAVA server I see:
ERROR MESSAGE: Error while silently connecting: org.w3c.www.protocol.http.HttpException: Unable to contact target server xxxxxx.xx.xxxx.net:443 after 1 tries.
DETAILED ERROR MESSAGE: Error while silently connecting: org.w3c.www.protocol.http.HttpException: Unable to contact target server xxxxxx.xx.xxxxt:443 after 1 tries.
Has anyone else came across a similar issue? Timeout parameters are set for 30 minutes on both the http and https A10 VIPs as well on ICM ports on JAVA and ABAP. I have imported the SSL cert and root cert for A10 loadbalancing URL in JAVA server.Any other parameter I need to check?
