locked by planning function

hi expert,

I'm work as BI 7.0. I want to make planning application (BI-IP), my aggregration level have 3 chars : 0VERSION , 0CALMONTH, 0ORGUNIT and Key Figure :revenue. I can make planning (manually) with many version or month , ORGUNIT in the same time. I create one planning function call "copy function" to copy data from old version to new version. When I execute the copy function, it locks all records in cube (lock table show: 1KFNAME revenue [] ), this make I can't make another plan with different version or month, Orgunit in the same time . I want when I execute copy function it only lock records relevant to version , month ,org I want to copy so I can make another planning same time. Any one! pls help me.

I geuss you are running your funczion without a correct filter.

How are you running it? In modeler, in sequence? in Web Template or Excel?

I run it on web template, In my modeler , there are not any filter. Thank you for your idea. Now I create filter and assign to Planning function in Plannign Sequence.

One needs to put maixmum filters in planning in order to reduce number of lock entries by particular user .

use separate filters for planning and functions.Also filter selections should be precise to avoid lock on all datas.

Hi,

I have created filter and planning function sequence, I tested them on planning modeler everything is ok. But when I open WAD to adjust the command button to execute planning sequence , the system throw java system error: "An Unknown error occurred during portal communication." I can save web template but when I validate against server the system throw this error again. And then I execute web template this error throw again. When I execute planning sequence, may be it is not effect, I checked in lock table it still lock all records. Any one pls help me

Hi,

sounds like you have a separate java problem. Ask your basic support to check it, ask if support packages are the same on ABAP and Java and so on.

Did you assign in web template alle the variables that the planning sequences uses to the sequence? (These are the lines for variable selection above the line where you put the name of your sequence in).

If your system is still reading too many records, then check your filter. There is the only place to restrict what the system is reading and locking.

You can also maintain lock entires in transaction RSPLSE.
