Hi,

My name is Guru. I am newbie for ABAP Development. As per experts advise i had gone through Sams Teach yourself ABAP in 21 days book and gotta idea about ABAP Programming.

Right now i need your help and guidelines to proceed further. My question is,

1. Should i join in any institute and get real time project experience ?

2. How effectively a fresher in ABAP get a job ?

3. Which is the best way of learning ABAP ?

Please suggest me and give your helping hand for my career start.

1. Yes joining an institute / company is important since you cannot do anything without servers

2. Cannot answer this properly, but there are many companies with lots of ABAPer requirements

First Thing is Upto what extent have to learned the subject?

and what areas you become perfect.

Basic core areas in ABAP are

REPORTS

TRANSACTIONS/Moduel pool programing

BDCS/LSMW (data migration)

Scripts/Smartforms(outputs)

These 4 are the basic areas in which you have to become perfect

Once you feel comfortables then take the help of a guy who is working in real time and ask him to interview you

and after that you start attending the interviews it doesn't mean that you will get the job in the first instance itself, by attending the interviews you yourself will come to know that how th market is and what they are expecting from you.

Hi Guru,

1. Its better to join an institute and learn ABAP as Sams Teach yourself ABAP in 21 days doesnt help u much.i dont think anybody will give u realtime project experience in SAP.

2. There are very less companies who take freshers in ABAP.but still u can try.

3. best way is to practice and get ideas and help thru the forums.u can work on real time problems thru SDN forum

Without real time experience , u will not get a job in sap. also theory is different, experience is different.so its better to join any companies. or do any certifications in sap from authorized institutes like siemens ,genovate

As afresher in sap, its very dificult to get into. if u have certification sap, it will be an advantage even if ur a fresher
