Hi All!
I have a question about the data cell limit and memory consumption in Analysis for Office 2.x...
This is my scenario:
I have a query with materials in the rows and twelve columns. Furthermore, I have eighteen rows for each material.
Now, I am selecting round about 250 materials. So, the result-sheet in Analysis for Office should be about 54.000 data cells (250*18*12).
Actually, this should be fine according to the default limit of 500.000 data cells, BUT I get an exception... "Size limit of result set exceeded".
My first question: Why? In my understanding 500.000 is bigger than 54.000....
Whatever, I edited the data cell limit according to SAP Note "2083067 - How to maintain settings for Analysis Office 2.x". I changed it to 10.000.000.
After that I executed the query again and got a new exception: "Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown"
My second question is again: Why? And how can I solve this problem?
Many thanks in advance!!!!
Best regards,
Stephan

Hi Stephan,
May be because data cell limit 10.000.000 is too high. Please review Safety belt parameters once. SAP note 1127156 would be helpful.
Also could you please try to change parameter "ResultSetSizeLimit" to 500.000 at "%AppData\Roaming\SAP\Cof" and try again. Earlier it did not work because settings were not maintained in your machine.

Hi Stephen,
Unfortunately, there is not really a solution for this problem according to this link. Except to use the 64 Bit version of MS Office and the 64 Bit version of Analysis. We don't have the options to select less data by adding more filters or something like this.
Thank you anyway!!!
But there is still one question: Our result-sheet should be about 54.000 data cells. Why is the error message appearing? I don't get it...
Regards,
Stephan
