mass change of Standard Price

Is there a way to change standard price of materials in material master other than through MR21?

Prasad,

You will have use a CATT for transaction MR21 or the LSMW tool to do a mass change of material master standard prices.

Hi,

H Narayan is absolutely correct.

But if you were asking if another transaction could be used, then no. MR21 carries out the update of the stock values and GL postings correctly. There is no other alternative for doing this in a way that would instantly change the price.

IF you don't want the update to be instant, you have the alternative option of using the CATT or LSMW job to update the "Future price" on the material master accounting view (instead of using MR21) and then activating it on the date. This has the advantage of you being able to do everything in advance and just activate the changes on the date you want.

Just to add aon Steve's proposal:

- The maintenance of the future price could also be performed with transaction CKMPRP or CKPRPN as a mass transaction and rule-based: e.g. future price = old price times 1.1.

- to release the future price you would use CKME

Hi all

I tried to change standard price of materials using MR21.I could do so for majority of the materials, but for few material I am getting the following error:

"Price changes for material xxxxx is not possible".

The performance assistant detailed error report is :

"

You want to change the price or release planned prices for material xxxx with valuation type in valuation area xxxx. You have, however, already entered actual data or performed a single-level price determination in the period concerned. The status of the material in the period is Quantities and Values Entered.

Price determination indicator 3 assumes that the standard price remains constant throughout the period, so that all movements can be valuated preliminarily with the same standard price. Therefore, you can only change the standard price at the beginning of a period (i.e. as long as no actual data was entered).

System Response

The system does not allow the price changes or the release of planned prices for this material in this period.

Procedure for System Administration

In the future, to automatically release your planned prices upon creation of new actual data you can allow dynamic price release in Customizing for Actual Costing/Material Ledger."

Need help to solve this problem.

Hi Prasad,

try the following,

Go to SPRO,

MM > Valuation and account assignment > ConfigureDynamic price changes

set the flag to "1" against the valuation area (Plant) and company code involved.

That should work.
