HI,

You can install SAP GUI and connect from a Win XP computer if it is connected to an SAP Application Server on Server O/S through network.

Hi,

First of all, SAP is not designed to work on Win XP. It should be installed only on a server O/S like Win NT, Win 2000 Server, Win 2003 Server.

You can find detailed info in the instalattion guides/prerequisites.

Thanks

Hi,

Please get the installation guides from

http://service.sap.com/instguides

Please go through the installation wizard of SAPinst tool as described in the installation manual. the executable SAPinst file should be located in the CD/DVD.

The SAPinst tool consists of an administrative framework, as well as functional components that provide the actual installation functionality.

Please copy the installation files from CD/DVD into local Drive, and run the installation from local drive.

After choosing the installation directory root, SAPinst creates the directory sapinst_instdir below the installation root directory. It then creates a directory structure according to the output-dir attributes of the product hierarchy below sapinst_instdir (from product.catalog).

If you have any error encounter during installation, check on the sapinst_dev.log - trace file for the installation.

Hope this helps.

cheers,

Vincent

Hi Danny,

There's no icon... You need to use sapinst.exe that must be inside in your kernel CD... then follow the procedure.
