Inconsistent search result number - CRM search query VSBYADDRQuery

Hello,

We are investigating an issue where number of entries returned by search parameter House_num1 and street number are different in WEB UI and SAP Table ADRC. For example : When I serach a premise address using 123 highway* , it returns only 40 entries in the search table in WEB UI. When I check ADRC with same address, I can see more than 100 values for it. Further i can see some of the premises do not show up in search results in WEB UI at all.

First I thought this could be due to default value of max_Search_hit being equal to 40. however on some other address say 234 Doomdsday* , search result table returns more than 200 entries. This rules out the possibility of search hit restricted by max_number_of_hits value.

Could someone please provide any suggestions on this ? Related query name is VSBYADDRQuery , component IUICOBJS.
