Unable to start Second Instance on the same sap system

Hi ,

This is suresh. Any body plz guide me. my problem is, i have installed R3 4.7EE and BW 3.0B on oralce ,(single stand alone system). First i have installed BW. ths installation was successful. and the Instance was worked properly and the workprocessors was came to wait status. then i have installed R3 and it is also successfully installed.

Details :

R3 SID = RSV , Instance no= 00

BW SID = B30, Instance No=01

R3 server is starting good. but when i am trying to starting BW server disp_work is in grey color(Stopped State). Message server is in Green color.

i tried this also :


svrmgrl>connect internal/oracle as sysdba

svrmgrl>startup open B30

ORA-01081: Cannot start already-running ORACLE- Shut it down first

Plz guide me in this.

    You need to logon with the appropriate <SID>adm to start your instance.

    If you want to start "rsv", logon as "rsvadm" and try to start the database.

    Hi Suresh,

    is it possible that you can start only one instance at a time? I assume that you run out of memory when you try to start the second instance.

    Please try to start both instances independently. If it is possible reduce the amount of memory of both instances.
