Hi experts,
In my sm51 screen its showing some number of errors at WPs due to killing the WPs.Normally i restart the instance to clear that errors.
Is there any way to clear that errors with out restarting the instance?
Gayatry.
Hi,
When u find any error , i mean in red do not need to restart Instance all the time as SAP does not recommend this procesdure. Go to SM51 select that perticular server, and click on W.Ps button on application toolbar, it displays the no of W.Ps as if we run SM50. Now select the perticular W.Ps be checking the BOX beside , Now go to Process> restart after error>yes, now refresh the server by F8, or by ending the session and execute SM51 once again,
OR u can do this process on OS level.
If u have the access to MMC.
Go to usr / sap / sid / sys / work / , before this confirm the PID (Process Identifier) as every W.P has a unique I.D, Find that perticular identity in usr / sap / sid / sys / work /(Directory). Right click --> end without error and again right click Refresh.

Dear Gayathry,
Syed is telling about refresh the buffer. and your concern is, eliminate the red mark at "err" . if you follow the procedure, its refreshes the buffer but it would not eliminates the red mark. and as per my knowledge, you should restart for eliminating this red mark.

Dear Gayatri,
No , you have to stop and start the instance to clear the error .
