One asset needs to be composed of 3 purchase orders

Dear Community,

I to create 1 asset and have to release 3 purchase orders at different suppliers to do this. The 3 parts purchased will be assemled and create the asset. Problem is having entered the asset number in the first PO it is used and SAP does not allow to use this asset number in another PO again.

How can I solve this problem? In the end I need 3 POs and one asset.

Thanks for your Support in advance!

Kind Regards

you are actually purchasing components which are as itself just parts of a future asset but are not an asset yet. So you should not purchase it as asset.

It becomes an asset after you assembled your components with an internal order.

create 3 create sub asset and then assign different sub asset number in the different 3 po.hence SAP Has given provision to enter only one asset number to know and differenciate the asset,

    Hi Martin,

Like what Jurgen said. You should capture the costs in internal order or WBS then settle the costs to fixed asset when u capitalize it.
