Customising Foreign trade instead of Using SAP GTS for SAP S/4 HANA

Hello,

Our American client is upgrading ECC 6.to S/4 HANA. in ECC 6.0 standard Foreign Trade functionality is used in SAP SD module. Iam not sure whether Legal control and Preference proessing is used or not. But yes, they are also reporting exports to customs I believe.

Once we migrate to S/4 HANA, Foreign trade cannot be used and one needs to go for SAP GTS module. But our client does not want to install the same due to cost and has asked us to customise Foreign Trade in S/4 HANA for SD module.

How difficult will it be to customise the Foreign Trade functionality to the same extent as it is used currently in ECC (Iam assuming we need to customise only basic functionality and reporting to customs . Iam assuming legal control/preference processing is not in scope).

International Trade with S/4 HANA 1809 supports:

• Classification - commodity codes
• Classification - tariff codes
• Classification - service codes
• Classification - control class
• Intrastat
• Compliance - Embargo control
• Compliance - SAP Watchlist integration (for denied / sanctioned party controls)
• Compliance - License Management
• Compliance - License controls for sales and purchase flows
• Compliance - blocked document reports and ways to release documents

It is not possible.

HANA International trade is only for INTRASTAT process (for EU countries)

S/4 HANA conversion that to with Foreign trade Data-I hope SAP has already stopped supporting FT and supporting GTS.

Do you reach SAP on this? Also is the only cost is the barrier for not converting to GTS?

we need to know the exact reason with client-also tell what FT cannot do and GTS Can do easily--may be with some valuable points like Customs management/Compliance management/Risk management--where all cannot be supported with FT.
