Hello,

I am new to SAP world ( around one year ), currently work as an SAP engineer in a large company. Mainly i prepare data for projects, in other word i use SAP ERP. I'm in love with SAP since first day, but i feel i need to learn more not only to execute transactions, i want to learn SAP ABAP development. My problem is that i cannot make it work. I tried like 5 times already to install SAP NW AS ABAP 7.50 SP2 developer edition on my laptop wth VirtualBox and openSUSE. I followed tutorials from SAP website and also from youtube and other websites but nothing work. I am always stuck at NPL start. NPL always failed to start...i cannot give a deeper explination because i uninstaled VirtualBox. However, i don't want to give up just because i was unable to install SAP. I am also Linux begginer, so i don't really know what should i do. Can NPL problem be related to low amount of RAM (4gigs), or not? Also, i'm 100% sure that i followed tutorials correct. Please i want to install SAP..any suggestion or guide to install again but with another steps?

Thank you and have a nice day.

4GB is definitely not enough by a long way, please review the technical requirements.

Another simpler alternative is to use a cloud instance, you will need an Azure account and it will cost usage fees, but should not be too much as long as you shut the system down when not using it. No installation, just deploy and run,

+1, these days cloud should be simpler albeit not completely free. This book has all the steps explained.

As a side note - if your company already has SAP maybe just talk to your manager about getting involved internally? Not sure though why you'd want to do ABAP when it's on the decline.

The ASE license on the developer version download recently expired, there are additional manual steps, see https://mdocs.sap.com/mcm/public/v1/open?shr=dRhHsVYVLc5c1UDveogwtXBdL9m82JccRlvvBXO6K5Q
