Currency while maintaining pricing

HI all experts,

I have maintained currency for the customer in XD01. It is USA customer and I have maintained USD in currency field in sales tab of sales area data in XD.

But in VK11 when I enter the basic price of the material for this customer and press enter the system by default takes currency as INR. This should not happen because if I am maintaining prices for 50 materils I have to change the currency also 50 times.

Please help. Rewards guarenteed.

Hi,

For your requirement please check the currency maintained in the Company Code defination and also for Sales organisation in Statistics currency field.

The currency at the company code level and at the sales organisation level is INR. Then what is the use of maintaining the currency in the customer master?

It will be a problem if the end user while maintaining the master may enter the wrong currency.

That is the currency that will be used by the customer to do business. In the next field there is exchange rate type that can be used to convert the currency to your required currency.

You can use the exchange rate type to define a buying rate, selling rate, or average rate for translating foreign currency amounts. You can use the average rate for the currency translation, and the bank buying and selling rates for valuation of foreign currency amounts.

FYI:

Customer's currency for a sales area. This currency will be used to settle the customer's charges for the given sales organization.
