Local Netweaver NPL system password reset - help!

Hi

As part of one of the OpenSAP courses I installed a local Netweaver system onto my laptop via VirtualBox and this works well except now months after the course has finished my password (and I am guessing my license) for this system is now expired.

I set the password for the Developer userid during the installation and have tried the Reset password option within the SAP GUI but it keeps saying I cannot log in.

Any ideas how I can reset the password for my Developer account so I can use my local netweaver system again without having to perform full reinstall? The previous password was the standard Appl1ance. 🙂

Thanks & Regards

Phil

Hello Phil,

When you add profile parameter:

login/no_automatic_user_sapstar = 0

and restart your system, you can login as SAP*. Then install a new license from SAP License Keys for Preview, Evaluation and Developer Versions and set the profile parameter back to:

login/no_automatic_user_sapstar = 1

Best regards

Thanks Frank - sorry for my ignorance but where exactly do I add these profile parameters. I cannot log in to SAP at the moment due to the license key / expired password. If you can direct me where to add this I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Hello Phil,

The profiles can be found:

  • UNIX systems: /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/profile
  • Microsoft Windows NT systems: \\<SAPGLOBALHOST>\sapmnt\<SID>\sys\profile\

Best regards
